Make Leather in two processing stages.
- 01Keep Bloody Skin.
The developer says most monsters can drop it. Do not commit it to another hide recipe until you know which final material is required.
- 02Prepare Crushed Bones and Salt.
The current Crafting table turns one Bones item into Crushed Bones at the Witching Mortar. Salt can be processed from Salt Rock in a Grinder according to the current Items table.
- 03Craft Scraped Hide.
At the Witching Mortar, combine 1 Bloody Skin, 2 Crushed Bones, and 2 Salt.
- 04Move Scraped Hide to the Furnace.
Scraped Hide is an intermediate item, not finished Leather.
- 05Process it into Leather.
A developer reply says this Furnace step takes about one in-game hour, not ten days.

If the target recipe asks for Leather, producing Thick Hide sends the Bloody Skin into the wrong branch. The item name—not just the starting material—determines the next station.

Common reasons the recipe appears stuck.
- You made Thick Hide. Use that for the Rawhide branch; start again with Bloody Skin for Scraped Hide.
- You stopped at Scraped Hide. It still needs the Furnace step.
- You do not have a Furnace. Follow the Helping Molly progression before stockpiling unfinished hide.
- You followed a generic “hide” answer. Check the exact requested material before processing a large stack.
- You expected a ten-day timer. The developer specifically corrected that claim and described the Furnace step as about one hour.
What is verified, and what is not.
The two-stage Leather chain is supported by developer replies and the current wiki. The exact Scraped Hide ingredient quantities are supported by the collaborative wiki revision and a separate third-party guide, not by a developer-authored recipe table.
